The Longest War—John Holmes

Check out the new Web stie! Here is a powerful quote from one of the pre-seller buyers of this book (it’s really selling, so far mostly to veterans):

Comments: as a vetern of the Iraq and Afghanistan war I truly want a copy of this for myself as a reminder of what I , my brothers and sisters in arms, and our families, have gone through. Many people do not support what we do or have done, but a true soldier knows, has regrets, but would never change the decisions made about our life in the military. It makes me proud that there are those brave enough to relive some of our hardest journeys to put it on paper for the rest of the world to see. —Amanda

The Longest War Pre-sale!

I just set this book up for pre-sale and it’s really moving! This is great, and pre-sales are always a strong indicator of success. There are a lot of veterans of the wars out there who want their story told on their own terms. And that’s exactly what I want to facilitate. This is quite exciting.

The South Carolina Republican primary is today. Newt had a big day at the debates the other night. I saw that and it was something wonderful to see him attack the media. The reporter John King is going to be branded for all time now, I wonder if he realizes that yet. The media naturally rallied around him. But that was a watershed moment, and that will be verified in a few hours.

Audience Magazine—Second Row by M. Stefan Strozier

Click the image to read a short essay in this issue of Audience Magazine about my upcoming memoir, Second Row. As you can see from the layout, this issue of awesome!!—and many thanks to Matt Ward in Australia for editing this issue. I will have no problems marketing it. And Matt’s press is publishing my memoir about rugby; fittingly, he’s an Australian publisher. I’ll tell you a little secret. I deal with all of these writers—so does Matt—but we started this empire over a decade ago because we are both writers. All of my writers look at me as “the publisher”. Heck, I am really a playwright. And I do my work as a small businessman to grow this press; but all of these books are here to further my career as a writer, hahahahha! Oh, I’m not Random House, booo hooo! My point is, Matt and I have created a vast apparatus and we now how the power to do whatever we want with it! And we’re just getting started. It’s my press, and it’s going to serve my wishes! Capitalism, baby! And, guess what?—if there’s ever any problem with that, I’ll flip the whole operation Down Under in 3 shakes of a lamb’s tail, Haus.

My Memoir is Selling!

Well, this is pleasant news, indeed. I go to check World Audience’s book sales and it’s always very good buy my own books are like all the rest: an initial surge and then sales slow. But now there is a sudden spike. I have some old friends contacting me out of the blue too, who I wrote about in the book. There is even a review at Amazon. It’s just one thing after another, lately.

Moctezuma the Musical?

I am working with a composer who was in my previous production of Moctezuma, and he’s an arranger with a studio so we can produce a fully written score with a CD. There are co-producers, a theater, a market in place, and even a movie is rapidly becoming a reality. Hollywood can’t copy me—no one can write this story, many have already tried and failed. Go ahead, Hollywood, you can do it! The train has left the station!!
